Ex-Guard engineering teams have spent the last decade designing guards that avoid interference with CMS systems while leaving a minimum amount of the front end exposed to impacts.
XG and EX Generation 3 guards are the only guards that have been tested and verified by the collision mitigation system (CMS) radar manufacturer to fall within their established “Verification Zone,” while at the same time avoiding the radar’s “Keep-Out Zones.” XG and EX models also have a 30% smaller opening around the CMS to better protect vital electronics. This aids in allowing the CMS to function properly and without inhibition.
Ex-Guard has been verified to meet the requirements of CMS radar systems for Freightliner®, Kenworth®, Peterbilt®, International®, Volvo®, Mack® and Western Star® as of August 1, 2024.
This verification provides confidence that fleets can purchase one guard size and style that will be compatible with many makes, models and years of truck. This also makes inventory management easier and operational efficiency much easier to achieve.
