Front-End Protection for Set-Forward-Axle Trucks
The HD 500G1 series combined high-tensile steel, a corrosion-resistant PVC coating and a single-hand latch system.
It was developed for classic-style, set-forward-axle trucks needing a practical balance of strength, styling and easy engine access.

OPERATION & CONSTRUCTION
Single-Hand Latch Release
The single-hand latch secured the guard in the upright position and was designed to provide quick engine access. The original LT 300G2, HD 400G2 and HD 500G1 families shared this operation style.
The latch could be adjusted at 100,000-mile intervals if needed. Ex-Guard guards in this generation generally weighed 90–240 lb., substantially less than many full bumper replacements weighing 300–500 lb.
