Product Policies

Our dealer return policy, plus terms for customers who bought online or through a dealer or retailer. Returns are handled by whoever sold the product — the Ex-Guard Limited Warranty covers it either way.

Dealers and upfitters buying on account start here. If you are an end customer, choose how you bought your guard.

Ex-Guard dealer return policy

These are the terms that apply to authorized dealers and upfitters purchasing on an Ex-Guard account. Start every request with your Ex-Guard sales representative or customer service.

2.1

Ex-Guard return policy

Any items purchased within 12 months of the requested ship date can be returned but will be subject to freight charges and a 10% restocking fee. Returns cannot exceed $5,000 USD in a 365-day period.

2.2

What if my product is past the 12 month period

On a case by case basis requests for returns over 12 months can be elevated for review.

Any items that were purchased outside that 12-month window or product returns with obsolete part numbers CANNOT be returned for credit. For extenuating circumstances for non-obsolete items a 15% restocking fee and customer pays return freight. Returns cannot exceed $5,000 USD in a 365-day period.

2.3

60 day freight claim or return timeframe

After a freight claim or return is scheduled the customer has 60 days to get the product returned. If the product does not show up within 60 days of processing the return, the case will be closed and the return will be canceled.

2.4

Product damaged in freight

Follow the steps under Product damaged in freight below. Refusing a damaged shipment is the fastest way to get a claim through.

2.5

Scope of these terms

The 12-month window, the restocking fees and the $5,000 annual cap apply to dealer and upfitter accounts only. They do not apply to orders placed at ex-guard.com.

Orders placed at ex-guard.com

This section applies only to orders placed directly on our website.

3.1

Return window

You have 30 days from the day your order is delivered to request a return.

3.2

Condition of returned product

Product must be unused and uninstalled, in its original packaging, with all mounting hardware and instructions included. Proof of purchase is required.

A guard that has been mounted to a vehicle, drilled, cut, refinished or otherwise modified cannot be returned.

3.3

How to start a return

Email [email protected] with your order number to request a Return Authorization.

Do not ship anything back before you have an authorization number. Unauthorized returns cannot be credited.

3.4

Restocking fee

Approved returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee, calculated on the price of the returned item.

3.5

Return shipping

Return shipping is paid by the purchaser. Ex-Guard covers return shipping when the return is the result of our error — a wrong or missing item — or a defect covered by the Limited Warranty.

3.6

Return transit deadline

Once a return is authorized, we must receive the product within 60 days. If it does not arrive within 60 days the case is closed and the return is cancelled.

3.7

Items that cannot be returned

Special order or customized items cannot be returned unless defective. This includes custom powder-coat finishes and made-to-order bracket configurations.

We also cannot accept returns on:

  • Obsolete part numbers
  • Items sold as clearance or final sale
  • Gift cards
3.8

Cancelling an order

You can cancel an order at no charge any time before it ships or enters production. Email us as soon as possible — once a guard is in production or on a truck, the return terms above apply instead.

3.9

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the right part is to return the one you have and place a new order. We do not hold exchange stock against a pending return.

3.10

Refunds

We inspect returned product within 5 business days of receiving it and email you the outcome. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval, less the restocking fee and any outbound shipping.

Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post the credit. If more than 10 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you have not seen it, contact us.

Bought through a retailer or dealer

Most Ex-Guard products reach their owner through an authorized dealer, an upfitter, or an independent retailer. On those sales we are the manufacturer, not the seller.

4.1

Returns are handled by whoever sold it to you

Returns, refunds, exchanges and restocking fees are governed by the return policy of the dealer, upfitter or retailer you bought from. Ex-Guard cannot issue a refund for a purchase we did not sell.

Contact the seller first. They will coordinate with Ex-Guard if the claim needs to come back to the manufacturer.

4.2

Your warranty is unaffected

The Ex-Guard Limited Warranty covers your product regardless of who sold it. Keep your receipt — it is the proof of purchase a warranty claim requires.

To make a warranty claim, contact Ex-Guard directly at [email protected].

4.3

Damage in transit

Report freight damage to whoever shipped it, and follow the steps under Product damaged in freight — refusing a damaged shipment is still the fastest route to a resolution.

Applies to every purchase

Product damaged in freight

Whether you are a dealer receiving stock or a customer receiving a single guard, these are the steps that get a freight claim resolved fastest.

5.1

Refuse it

Please do NOT accept damaged freight. We ask that our customers REFUSE the shipment, as this is the fastest way to get a claim through.

5.2

After you refuse it

After the shipment is refused, customers should immediately contact their sales rep or customer service. From there, Ex-Guard will arrange a NEW shipment.

5.3

What if I accepted the damaged products in freight

If the product is damaged and accepted, the customer has 24 hours to report it to Ex-Guard. Damaged goods need to be notated on the delivery receipt.

Applies to every purchase

One-year limited warranty

This warranty covers every Ex-Guard product, whether it was bought on account, online, or through a dealer or retailer.

6.1

Terms and conditions

Your warranty begins at the date of the purchase, please retain your proof of purchase. The warranty is not transferable and only covers the original owner. The replacement of any part is covered for the duration of the original warranty.

6.2

What is covered

Ex-Guard products are warranted for a 1-year period from the date of purchase. Ex-Guard will provide replacement parts for manufacturer defects in materials used to produce the Ex-Guard product, including workmanship and design.

6.3

What is not covered

Any loss due to improper installation, road hazards, defects resulting from product modification, vandalism, or any part of the guard after a collision or accident. Normal, everyday ‘wear and tear’ of the Ex-Guard product is not included in this warranty agreement.

6.4

Warranty limitations and exclusions

This limited warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Any other warranties relating to your Ex-Guard product, including, but not limited to, warranty of merchantability, are limited to the duration of the warranty. Ex-Guard Industries will not be liable for consequential, incidental, and/or any special damages to persons or property that may occur in connection to your Ex-Guard product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitations of incidental or consequential damages so this limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

6.5

To request warranty service
