OPERATION & CONSTRUCTION
Dual-Cam Latch Release
Dual mechanical latches locked the grille guard in the upright position. The adjustable catches were designed to hold the guard securely mile after mile while providing engine access comparable to opening the truck hood.
The original XG 100G2 and XG 200G1 families used this two-hand latch system. Ex-Guard guards in this generation generally weighed 90–240 lb., substantially less than many full bumper replacements weighing 300–500 lb.
