How to Open and Unlatch an Ex-Guard
Safety instructions on how to unlatch an Ex-Guard that's mounted on a truck.
The Ex-Guard product range has offered three different latch types over the years.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how each one works:
LEVRLock (XG and EX Gen 3)
**NOTE: Make sure you keep one hand on the upper part of the guard at all times to control its descent.

Step 1: Rotate the handle up and away from the truck to unlatch.

Step 2: Push the handle down and towards the truck to re-latch.

Step 3: Repeat on the other side, making sure to keep one hand on the upper part of the guard to control its descent.
Dual Cam Latch (two-sided latch on XG Gen 1 and Gen 2)
**NOTE: Make sure you keep one hand on the upper part of the guard at all times to control its descent.
- Step 1: Pull the handle out past the locking pin.
- Step 2: Rotate the handle back towards the truck to unlatch.
- Step 3: Repeat on the other side, making sure to keep one hand on the upper part of the guard to control its descent.
Single Hand Release (LT Gen 1, 2, and 3 and HD Gen 2 guards)
**NOTE: Make sure you keep one hand on the upper part of the guard at all times to control its descent.
Step 1:
Pull to rotate latch bar up and forwards toward front of guard to open, keeping one hand on the upper portion of the guard to control its descent.
