Ex-Guard Withstands 70 MPH Moose Hit in Fairbanks

RST Transportation out of Klein, TX saw the immediate ROI from their investment after upfitting all of their trucks with Ex-Guard. On Saturday night, this XG-150 hit a moose at 70 MPH while pulling into Fairbanks, AK (a frequently traveled route from Houston). The impact was mitigated from what could’ve been a tragic encounter. The damages ensued include a broken airline to the air dryer and the A/C compressor along with some cosmetics on the hood.

10K Saved On 60mph Deer Impact!

“I just wanted to say thank you for your design (XG-150G2). I bought one of your bumpers about a year and a half ago in Salt Lake. I live in Reno and I was deadheading from Twin Falls, Idaho to Salt Lake City, Utah to pick up my next delivery. I was going about 69 miles an hour and a deer came out of nowhere; I would’ve hit it dead center but I was able to just get to the left a little bit and apply a tiny amount of brakes to bring me down to about 60 miles an hour at impact. 

The passenger side bumper on the very bottom was destroyed bringing me to about $700 worth of damage but that’s nothing compared to what it could’ve been. It could’ve been $4,000 or $5,000 and most importantly, if my lights would have been damaged, I would’ve been out of service. But, luckily I was able to get to my delivery, pick it up and make it home thanks to you guys, and that means a lot to truck drivers! 

I was able to make it back to my family and save I’d say around $10,000 because downtime costs me $1,500/day.
